They played nine songs from their still catchy debut album and there was definitely a noticeable different energy in the air when these songs were played. Their fourth album False Alarm released on 21 June 2019 and featured songs like Satellite and Talk. While the band ran through material from False Alarm and their most recent efforts, I was delighted that they remained so true to their debut album, Tourist History. They have come a long way since then and wasted no time reminding us why we always gravitate back towards their live show, immediately striking a chord kicking off the show with “Talk,” “Undercover Martyn” and “I Can Talk.” It’s crazy to believe that Two Door Cinema Club now has four albums under the belt, as I remember seeing them for the first time at rooms like Bowery Ballrom and The Bell House. The band has been teasing some new music and they played a few of those tracks along with some old favorites before Two Door took the stage. Opening the show was Overcoats, the duo of Hana Elion and JJ Mitchelm. This was our first time seeing them since their performane at The Meadows in 2017 (as well as Brooklyn Steel). Two Door Cinema Club returned with their fourth album False Alarm (via Glassnote Records) and on September 13th they brought their tour in support of it to Brooklyn for a sold out performance at Hammerstein Ballroom.
